Wrapping .mov files into swf

Hey everybody-

Does anyone know how to wrap a .mov file into a swf?

I appreciate your time.

Wrapping .mov files into swf

import it to the timeline using file/import/import video.

Wrapping .mov files into swf

Thanks for the info.?This seems to be such a weird process.?I was trying to do the same thing yesterday with .mov files, and it wouldn't work. I reencoded it, and it imported fine locally and when I test the movie it works. When I deploy the movie to a server and reference it, it doesn't quite work the same.?It looks like it references it fine initally - collects all the metadata with no errors - but it doesn't acutally show up on my canvas the way it does when I do it locally.

Any suggestions?

what do you mean by ''reference'' it??you should just have a swf that you load into a browser ro you load the swf's embedding html into a browser.

The video file itself will be deployed to a server, so when I go through the 'import video' process, I have to reference it by source (http://example/example.mov).

When I just test it locally, with the video located on my local machine, it works.?But when I try to refer it, it doesn't work.

Sorry if I'm making this confusing.

this is an error I get:

Maybe I am just not encoding the video as I should. I am using the new Final Cut Studio for all my stuff, so I must be doing something wrong.?I think I might start a new thread and see what people say about how I should prepare video to play in Flash.

to load video into flash you should be using an flv file.
