Trying to run Photoshop CS4 I keep getting the error ''Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application.''
I have re-installed 4 times now with no success.?And have tried the CS4 cleanup script recommended on the forum.
...
I have to say, trying to install CS4 has been a difficult and time consuming process.?Mirroring the experiences of several others on the forum.
Along with several others on the forum, I had the BSOD issue right out of the box, especially with the 2nd DVD.?I couldn't even use xcopy or Windows copy/paste to get the DVD files to my desktop, it caused BSOD or access violation.?So there's definitely something funny with the DVDs.
I had to use a MacBook to copy the files then transfer them over the local network.?After wasting days on it and repeated research on the web and here.
Then I had to use the CS3%26amp;4 cleanup scripts and other methods on the web to cleanup after the failed BSOD install.?Now installed, except for the Photoshop issue above.

CS4 Production Install Problems -...As this is a installation issue, I'd recommend calling Technical Support. TS handles installation issues for current versions for free.
CS4 Production Install Problems -...Blue screen errors indicate a hardware problem, a flakey driver or perhaps a problem with the BIOS.

Possibly.?But given the fact that several other individuals report the same exact issue encountered, especially with disc 2, and the fact I've never encountered the problem before with any other DVD software, it makes me curious.
I have done a complete reformat and reinstall of XP (machine was due for it anyways).?Still the same ''missing components'' error.?If the message box was more specific, self-diagnosis of the issue and resolution might be alot easer.
Will try tech support later to see if they have anything useful to offer.
I am having the same problems with Photoshop and Illustrator.?And when I go to use Flash a trial version screen comes up when I purchased the full version of the CS4 Production Premium.?I have uninstalled and reinstalled 4 times as well.?I have also called Tech support but little good does that do you when the Tech support person is from India.?A total waste of time.?Adobe is an American company and I need American help so I can understand what to do!!!
